Frame of 2x4's

We were given a tempered glass door to use,
so the frame had to be pretty sturdy.

A sheet of 1/2" foam, painted as a wall, fake window from foam, real curtains for realism when a slight breeze rustled them

Backdrop slipped inside frame, glued or taped to back

Plant sitting just in front of the backdrop gives 3D realism. It will be behind the sheet of glass.

Now imagine this sheet of foam is a sheet of glass. Slide in diagonally. Where the glass meets the backdrop will be hidden by drapery.

Finished effect, kinda. Now I actually built walls on either side of the frame that were covered in drapes. This hid the TV.

Now if a TV, playing a video of a little girls face, were sitting on a table to right of the frame, the little girl reflects onto the glass.

The videotape we shot had the little girl fade in and out, with appropriate music. We left about 30 seconds of blackness in between "appearances".
