
These are in-progress pictures of the owl I created
using a leftover set of Douglas Fir eyes. I took these pictures halfway
through the processso you could see how I cut the face to implant the eyes.
Our haunt always leans slightly toward humour, so the original oversized
glowing green eyes work out great.
You can see in these pictures that I hadn't finished feathering
him. Badger hackles worked great--lighter colours for the belly area, some
whitish ones directly under the face and on the face. After feathering
the entire body and face, the eyelids were also feathered running in a
more horizontal fashion and hanging off the end of the lid so they don't
interfere with the mechanism and blend in lid to head.
